We start with the color pick.
Before we do anything else, the child chooses her nail color from our kid-safe selection. Bright pinks, purples, corals, neons — we have a range specifically for younger clients. This is their appointment, and it starts with their choice.
Then a short, warm foot soak. Gentle water temperature, no harsh soaking agents. A few minutes to clean the feet and soften the nails. We keep it calm and make it feel like the beginning of something fun.
Nail trimming comes next. Straight across to avoid ingrown nails, then lightly shaped. We do not do aggressive cuticle work on children — a light, gentle clean-up only. Then the non-toxic polish goes on. Clean application, one coat, careful not to flood the cuticle. Then a top coat to help it last.
Total time: about 20 minutes. Mom can sit right next to her the whole time. We end with making sure the polish is fully dry before shoes go back on.
